In remembrance of a dark day. May we never forget, but learn to forgive.

This is the center of my doily that took grand champion at my county fair. These are direct scans with the piece layed flat on my scanner.
I used some two-ply linen that was comparable to a size 40 crochet cotton. and size 2.75mm needles. Everybody wants to know how long it took me to knit it. My answer, "Not nearly as long as it took me to get the nerve to enter it in the fair." By the way, is anyone shocked that I chose to put a piece of purple paper over these for contrast? >grin<

This is the "mid" section. There will be better pics of this soon. In the meantime
You can get the pattern at the link...

Here we have the outer edge of my prize-winning doily.

This is a coaster I knitted from two strands of embroidery floss. the original doily was 12", but mine turned out about 7" Oh, and I used size 000 needles. Starting this thing was a real PAIN!
